Diachrysia chrysitis Lost?
I've never seen a moth with such golden wings, almost as if someone had carefully placed a piece of gold-foil on each upper wing.
It flew through the window at work & into the side of my head, just by my ear, before careering off around the room.
After taking a few pictures (this was the best) I sat down at my computer & attempted to identify it. It looks very like the Burnished Brass moth, Diachrysia chrysalis, which is endemic to Britain, Europe & Siberia. No mention of it in NZ, & no moth remotely similar in appearance. So perhaps it is lost?
