This is a wasteland opposite our compound. It could be a scene from biblical times although now there are dead palm trees and derelict buildings where a community once lived. This is old Doha, waiting to be reinvented. In contrast, on the compound side of the road there are fresh green lawns and bushes and smart gates leading to luxury villas.
