Dougal sharpening his claws ready for hunting.

Today I was allowed a very brief play with the GOGs new camera; I still prefer my own, but maybe that is because I am used to mine. This picture of Dougal was taken using the new camera and although I can have a longer play another time I am not sure I want to do so. Dougal is sharpening his claws on the only tree in the garden, which the deer have left alone; they keep stripping the bark off.

Today we went to a different hospital, Papworth, a heart and lung specialist hospital, which I understand will eventually become part of Addenbrookes. We allowed plenty of time to get there as we knew he had to have an x-ray; we arrived an hour early! So we went to have coffee and ended up having lunch as well. The curry looked and smelt wonderful, but alas it was not gluten free. The GOG had a roast chicken lunch, saves me cooking tonight. The consultant was amazed at how fast the GOG had recovered, but wants to see him again in four weeks when he will have consulted with Addenbrookes and will then compare today’s x-ray with another one, which will be taken in four weeks’ time.

We came home a different, more scenic route, which would have taken about the same amount of time. However, the last mile took thirty minutes. The railway bridge, in Newport, which is often blocked by lorries, which are too tall to go under it, was blocked again. We are not sure what had happened, my grandson seems to think that a bus and a tractor were involved. From what we could see it appeared that a low-loader lorry had shed its load of a tractor under the bridge.
