Knit Wit

Whilst I am quite au fait with sewing patterns, and can chop and change them with confidence, when it comes to knitting I am less self-assured.

OK, I can follow a pattern and turn out neat rows but the idea of using different yarns for different patterns has me stumped - what exactly makes one compatible (or not) with the other? Even my tension squares turned out too small, no matter what size pins I used.

So the wee jackety-thing I planned to knit from my stock wool, while we are away next week, will have to wait until I have been back to the shops and bought sufficient matching yarn.
