Tonight we finally went to see the film version of one of my favourite books 'The Book Thief'

The film beautifully captures an ugly period of history 'Nazi Germany' narrated by Death who is extremely busy during this period but cannot help be haunted by humans and in particular Liesel the main protagonist.

Liesel herself who at the beginning cannot read eventually discovers the beauty and power of words as she becomes a book thief.

I loved this book & film and saw so much of me in Liesel.

I have always loved books from a very young age and can still hear my mum's words of how you will always find my head buried in a book.

If you enjoy reading I highly recommend this one.
