The Wilsons

Kindess

JimJam got a little present today, brought to us via the CLIC social worker from Glos who now covers Bristol. In with it was this card. The Play team at our local hospital made it (and the photo doesn't do it justice) and some of the Drs and nurses singed it with lots of best wishes. Also two lovely music cds came with it. Not only are we touched by the gifts, it's the thoughtfulness of the card, which is textured with cut out butterflies so JJ can feel it. Such kind people to think of us, and it seems she is being missed!
The second act of kindness came today in the form of a lovely gift bag full of goodies from my friend Cheryl. Even after enduring her first round of chemo last week, she still found time to buy such lovely things. Such a lovely friend, and a very strong and inspiring one. Thank you.

News on JJ.
This week we have seen a positive test result for c diff, which is a bug in the tummy, but now it seems it was a false positive which is good news. Apparently the Trust are fined if they have too many cases each year. So glad we don't add to that statistic! JJ hasnt been herself for a while, but glad to report that by the weekend she was picking up and giggling and singing. Monday saw her have an endoscopy and a colonoscopy to find out what's going on. It seems she has severe gastrisis, which is inflammation of the stomach. No wonder she hasn't been tolerating food. They also took samples to see if it's caused by bacteria. If so, it's treatable with antibiotics. If not, then it's treatable with stomach protecting medicine. Monday night her Jej (feeding tube) blocked, so we where down in Xray to see if the position was wrong. It wasn't so today we've been back down to Xray so a new one can be inserted. Life has been busy this week!
Met up with Mum, Dad, Jo and Lucy today. Not forgetting the very entertaining Jamie! Had a lovely lunch and great to be able to catch up.

We have another 26 days to get out of here before we go past the amount of time we were in here for the first time. No pressure JimJam......

Started feeding tonight and it didn't take long before she was sick again. Argghhh. Poor love.
