Hump Day Heron Update
Finally the sun poke out in the late afternoon so a dog walk was in order to our wonderful Marymoor park again. Lately I find its a nice soft trail to exercise my bad foot on....which is getting less bad!! That's thanks to all the therapy each week! So the hooligans and I set off to get some sun and see the progression of the Heron rookery. There were some on nests, some flying to nests and some fixing the up....spring cleaning going on. This Saturday there will be some protective fences erected around the bases of the trees where the nests are. This is to keep the dogs and people away ....herons will be dropping food scraps and other goodies in the next couple months. Once the babies are born it will keep them safe from the dogs if they fall out of their nests. Soon the leaves will cover them up more too.
So it was a productive day at the park after all...a morning of an early swim and two appointments and gray skies. Afternoon sun was most welcome for all parties involved!!!!! Thanks to all who have commented, left stars and hearts ....hope to resume better commenting on this end soon!!!
