Violets

Viola riviniana. Lovely to see these peeping out from the bottom of the bank. I remember searching them out to pick little bunches as a child.

It was only when I looked up the Latin name for violets that I realised they were the same family as the bedding violas I buy from the garden centre. Hmmm - bit slow on the uptake there...
