An Odd Sheep
I grew up on a sheep farm but we didn't have any like this.
It looks like a very smart sheep in a very old coat. There are several like this in the flock, which came and went through a barbed wire fence. That may help explain the state of the "overcoat".
PS. Thanks to Ms Peahen's tip I have researched Damaras and found they don't need shearing as they shed their winter coat in summer. That's a relief as I was worried they might just have been neglected.
The low maintenance is popular with people who don't have many sheep and don't want the hassle of shearing. This would be the case in the Megalong Valley where there are few sheep and fewer shearers.
Their tails should not be docked as excess fat is stored in them, a bit like a camel's hump.
Lambs are born almost running, making them almost impossible to catch.
For a bit of fun I applied the Nik Color Efex Tonal Contrast (Softening) filter.
