Another funeral today
This time a church burial; a first for me. I got to the church early to wander round with my camera.
The funeral reception was held in Gatton Hall which was more impressive than any of my church or graveyard views. This beautiful building was virtually destroyed by fire in the 1930s and rebuilt in 1936 . The portico is all that remains of the original buildng . Its set in a beautful Capablity Brown (did you know his name is really Lancelot?) designed park.
I reminisced with childhood friends and family. It was a really lovely day. Isn't it a shame that your family organise the best party for years after you have died and cannot join in.
