A dead end for some..
This sad looking, rather dilapidated, walled cemetery, is next to where I live at Braehead House in Kirkcaldy. You can see part of the side of Braehead House in this photo.
It has had a number of names, but is now known as the Nether Street Cemetery. It opened for business in 1756, and I think most of the internments took place in the first hundred years of its existence.
However, it is the site of a number of burials from the time of the typhus outbreak in Kirkcaldy in 1871; not surprising given it was the nearest cemetery to the old infirmary in St Clair Street which dealt with many typhus cases.
It was a really miserable day with a mist hanging around, and visibility rather restricted. I have had to add a bit of light by way of photoshop to make the image a little clearer.
