A day out of the Borders...........

.......is a day wasted?

I went shopping with my mother today and we ended up at The Gyle. I haven't been there for a few years and was quite disappointed with the number of empty shops as I had thought that the "out of town" shopping centres were flourishing at the expense of the High Street!

We had our lunch in the food court which brought back memories. I had my first lunch there before it actually opened to the public in 1994 (is that really twenty years ago?) as part of a promotion. Vouchers were sent out to local businesses, including the Bank of Scotland where I worked, for a free lunch and preview of the new facilities.
