An exciting afternoon

The heaviest rain I have ever seen here fell for about 45 mins . Lightening blew all the electrics, and as for the water. Well next door had a river running through their living room.We live near the top of a hill so you imagine just how hard it rained and god knows what it was like at the bottom of the hill. The river motif continued in the Barn (we are repairing this after a fire). The road outside the entrance was totally flooded stranding several cars. The fiire brigade had to come to pump out water and then just after they left we noticed 50 meter flames in the air above the trees.
We went to look and were told that due to the storm the venting gas from the nearby gas compression station had been set alight. (by the lightening perhaps?) "Nothing to worry about guv.." Said a fireman who had recently been pumping out water...Meawhile I spotted some rabbits helping themselves to the carrot tops. Cunning little buggers. Just a normal Sunday
