April 4th 2009 - Chilling by the beach
I woke up to my alarm again and had a breakfast time of sport with the end of F1 qualifying and Man City vs Arsenal, before nipping out to the shops to get what is necessary for dinner. This morning we took a 10 minute walk to the beach – a lovely little wander over a rock pathway, through a tree archway to see the beach with sea lions relaxing in the shade and a lizard resting on a branch. We joined the others who were already here and jumped into the salty sea, messing about in the powerful waves. Some of us went for a little walk, seeing many iguanas, a turtle head poking out of the waves and a pelican.
After lunch and the end of the towns siesta, most of our flat went into town to pick up more necessities (snorkel set, flip flops, etc) and to send some emails home. Tea was lovely – rice, fried veg and cocktail sausages – and then we headed to the roof terrace for Helle, Lousie St and Camilla’s housewarming party. We were ready for a night out but plans were cancelled after we found out some of the other group had had a significant amount of money stolen from them. The night slowly wrapped up, although I did try the star setting on my camera to see what would happen.
