Red Dunes

IT'S THE WEEKEND!!! Which meant a lovely lie in. Had a terrific storm through the night - very high winds with the gum tree outside my window really tossed about. It all calmed down in the morning though.

Decided to have a drive to the little known Emirate called Umm Al Quwain; mainly to get a bottle of champagne for a friend. The drive takes in some great natural scenery of these red (yes they really are that colour) dunes with quite a lot of greenery on them (Ghaf trees) thanks to all the rain we've had recently. Splendid. Think I'd like to do this drive one day just to take pictures. The dunes are quite high in some places. G got a great shot of a plain.

Mission accomplished getting the champagne, in fact, we brought back 6 mini-bottles for ourselves. And it's been a very relaxed evening since getting home. Just what the doctor ordered. Happy Weekend everyone. :)
