Ringing the Bells

This little hummingbird has been stilled to sit and warm her two eggs. Sitting still must be so foreign to her.

Everytime we stroll out the sliding glass door onto the patio, she sits and watches us. Occasionally she'll helicopter up and out of her nest, and with a quick turn she's gone, but not for long.

I find her choice of nest location interesting. She obviously wanted to be close to our commotion to help keep other dangers away. We talk to her everytime we go out or in the door.

We think her eggs will become babies in just a few more days. It's a privilege to have her nesting on the patio bells.
