Dragonfly

Spotted this wee guy when we were waiting to be picked up to go out for dinner. He didn't seem in the least bit perturbed by me getting so close to take his picture.

We were off to one of T&P's monthly gourmet dinners at a pretty posh hotel in Sandton. Part of the deal is that the food is accompanied by the wine from one vineyard.

We started the evening with canapés and Sauvignon Blanc, followed by an interesting prawn starter with Chardonnay, then beef cheek (not my favourite) and Merlot, a little Ginger and pineapple sorbet cleanser, a lovely Springbock loin and shank with a red blend and lastly, Milk and Honey which was superb, a little bit of honeycomb with the lightest milky froth accompanied by a gorgeous Noble Late Harvest.

Just enough food to feel satisfied and enough wine to make you ready for bed. What a great night!
