Mist in the Valley

Today is the last day of Daylight Saving. We turn the clocks back one hour at 3.am tomorrow morning. Gone will be the very dark mornings for now but at the other end of the day we will be having dark evenings. I don’t know which I like the most…
I picked up Joe and Ricky soon after 6.30am this morning and we proceeded to trudge up the Wither Hills in the dark to the Rotary Lookout area. This is the walk we will be doing during the Colours of Marlborough Convention later this month. The walk on Thursday the 24th is called the “Dawn Breaker. We will be walking from around 6.15.am in order to catch the sunrise at 7.11am. It will be fun and I do hope any Blippers who are attending the Convention will be able to joins us.
This morning dawned with a clear sky. It was a little misty, even up on the hills and we saw that our cameras and bags collected condensation. It was DAMP.
Today’s blip is a view across Blenheim and the Wairau Plain to the Richmond Range. As so often happens during autumn and winter the valleys are filled with thick fog. The road to Picton runs through the valley in the left side of this image. It would have been a very foggy journey for travellers to and from Picton this morning.
