Picnic for one
Not much competition for the picnic tables alongside Strangford Lough this afternoon. I waited for this crow to fly off to try to catch him/her in flight, but my capture was much too blurry. A skill to be developed!
Our American friends arrived at noon today and our pupils waited patiently, banners a-flutter, for the group to emerge from immigration. It was quite funny to watch - they started off in a big semi-circle, holding up their welcome banners in an impressively orderly fashion, but when the ten American students eventually appeared (an hour after landing!) our girls just ran forward and hugged them! Banners were abandoned in the melee as joy was unconfined, with much yelling and shrieking. They do wear their hearts on their sleeves :) - and this is the first time most of them have met! I fear to think what they will be like next week when it's time for departure.
So I hope that this weekend there are new friendships being formed. And that the weather improves so that the crow has more company at the picnic area.
