Last Day in Cuba!

We had to be out of our room by noon but the bus didn't leave until 6pm so we had pretty much the whole afternoon so after a final breakfast in the lovely dining room we began our farewells. We had made such a lovely connection with 3-4 of the waitresses here and so on our final day there was lots of kissing and hugging - mind you during most of the last week we were kissed (on each cheek) at each meals...they are so affectionate and demonstrative in Cuba! Then it was time for my last swim in the ocean....my last pina colada in the lobby. We spent a frantic few hours trying to contact Richard at home to make sure our road had been plowed....it was a bit stressful. But finally we were off to the airport and after a delay of about 1 1/2 hours we were in the air.

It was sad to leave such a place of beauty and warmth....and not just the weather! the hospitality of the people working in the resort was spectacular, we were treated so well.
