Gifted but flawed

Watched Carlisle United today beat Swindon 1 nil. The result lifted them just out of the relegation places. The guy in the picture is Gary Madine who scored the goal and was the best player on the pitch.

He made his name at Carlisle and then was transferred to Sheffield Wednesday. He is currently on loan back to Carlisle. He has had a chequered history. He has been involved in several assaults usually in pubs. The last one led to him being sent to jail for 18 months. He's done 5 months and is out on licence. The Carlisle manager kept in touch with him when he was incarcerated and has managed to get him play for the Blues for the rest of the season. A good move. He could be the spark that keeps us up.
