Happy anniversary deer

This visitor came by this evening, perhaps to congratulate Sue and me on our 34th wedding anniversary! Though as gardeners the deer isn't the most welcome anniversary gift.

Today we went to the Renewable Energy Conference here on Salt Spring Island. It was a well attended event and very good. It was too well attended actually as some of the workshops were so popular that it was difficult to get in. I missed the solar power workshop and ended up on the energy efficient gardening one instead.

Sue went to the Electric Vehicle Owners session. She met the owners of the two Teslas on Salt Spring. They were a lovely couple and big donors to the Solar Scholarship Project which is putting solar panels on the roof at the secondary school and funding a scholarship with the savings made!
