The Candle Shopper

On our way to a Friday night Cafe performance, my wife and I stopped off at what used to be a vibrant shopping mall. Only the economic climate being what it is the mall was a shell of what it once was. There were more empty store fronts than occupied ones. Regardless of the news reports, this area was in a real depressed financial state.

As we strolled the once proud promenade we came across a candle store that had just begun a 50% off sale, Seems their lease was up at the end of the month and they wanted to move what stock was left on the shelves.

My wife in her glory proceeded to find enough bargains to pay their rent for another month. Fortunately with the sale prices we were still able to walk out with a few dollars in our pockets.

From a distance I watched as my wife revealed the correct way to purchase candles. There was reading, visualizing, sniffing and the occasional mind wandering and in the end her smile moment, the purchase.

Right place, right time? Well maybe, but whenever I (we) travel to a ministry event, I (we) find ourselves blessed in some way ...always (my smile moment).

Pray on...
