At the QNCC (Qatar National Convention Centre, opened in 2011) is this 30 foot tall spider called 'Maman'. It is the work of Louise Bourgeois who created it as a tribute to her mother who was a weaver in France. The egg sac contains 17 white and grey eggs made of marble.

The tree- like columns supporting the overhanging roof of this huge building are said to resemble the holy Islamic 'Sidra Tree'.
