My afternoon discovery.

The weather has been extremely ordinary today. As much as I love the rain, which we have had all afternoon, today the light for taking photos has been completely wrong. Way too much glare. I think my camera was in a state of confusion...

So I sat at my desk and decided to collect together all of the information I have on the life of my grandfather. A few years ago I started a blog for recording my family history and to add photos of the relatives closest to me, of whom I have many old photos, and grandad is the next story on my list to be added.

I came across a few letters, and in among those I found some forgotten photos, sent to me by my father's first cousin, who is now in his late 80's, including one of my paternal grandparent.

My grandma looks so young here, and so pretty, so I took a photo of the photo to add here today. I don't know the year in which this photo was taken, but I'm guessing it's between 1918 or 1919. They were married in 1919, after my grandad came home from serving time in WW1.

So today, I am pleased to introduce Samuel and Florence Mottershead, my grandparents.
