April Fool.
April 2000. The top strip was a lot of fun - the year before all of the national comic strip artists had "swapped" strips on April Fool. It was really cool and a lot of fun, so the six of us that had comic strips in the Daily Wildcat got together and drew names out of a hat. I got "Pickle" - it was a pretty good strip, sort of a basic everyman gets drunk a lot and says inappropriate things kind of thing. You know, like my strip if Tad wasn't gay. So this is the comic that I drew for the artist, Jim Burgess, and not only is it true to his particular kind of humor, I thought it was pretty funny. He and I had had a few go rounds over the years when his strip would make a crack at mine or mine would at his, but his version of my strip was very respectful (I really wish I had it) and all around it was a lot of fun. And as with most things - the students didn't notice in the slightest.
The bottom strip is another tell that marriage was on my mind in a big way. It's pretty funny but way too wordy for the size it got printed at. After the marriage strips show up here, I'll tell about the proposal. It was pretty funny; it was very Tad and would have made a good comic strip.
