Day 7: At last!

Nearing Great Haywood were we moor in the marina we pass through Tixall Wide as I mentioned on 28th March. Tixall is well known for its population of Kingfishers. I have seen them before, I have seen Kingfishers up and down the canal but have never managed a shot of one.

My handicap in getting shots of them has always been that the best shots are taken from the bow and I am invariably at the stern. This time G (bless him) saw the Kingfisher and came and took over the tiller giving me chance to get to the bow and get 2 shots. Not the worlds most brilliant shots but captures never the less.

Of the two shots I preferred this one as you have a bigger view of the bird. It is still heavily cropped,but I am delighted to get the shot.
