Festival of Light.
It doesn't take much to turn the drab greyness into something wonderful. There was a heavy frost last night and the remnants of summer that remain are resplendent in tiny sparkling lights.
I love the way the frost defines the shape of the leaves too. I guess there is enough shelter in those tiny creases to stop the worst of the chill from setting in.
Soon it will be sunset again, so I guess that it's going to be a cold night. It will also be the start of Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of light.
PS Sorry about the bird poo - but I suppose it adds authenticity!
