Hamish McHamish unveiled
A cat can look at a councillor!
Provost Jim Leishman, MBE unveiled a statue to Hamish the Cat in St Andrews today. OH and I were happy to have been invited along. Hamish is a real cat who is looked after by the citizens of St Andrews, having deserted his owner some time ago in favour of being a town cat. There's a book about his adventures, and today there was artwork, a big celebration cake and quite a fuss being made. A local lady raised the funds to commission this statue of Hamish, and it has had the benefit of bringing people in the town together. I'm sure it will be a place for people to visit and have their photograph taken.
