April 7th 2009 - Supplies arriving
This morning we were at a different farm with lots of dogs to run around us barking. Our task was to machete down the wild plants and weeds, trowel out the roots and rake up the rubbish. It was boiling and so we were sweating like crazy in the sunshine. After breaking the trowel I was moved onto the machete (much more difficult to break) which was a lot of fun and I felt very macho as I chopped down the bushes shirtless with something that kind of resembled a sword. Apart from sweating like crazy, we also performed one other task – we collected potatoes. We took a box along to collect mora berries but instead filled it with little potatoes for tea. Katja and I went shopping in the afternoon and we cooked omelette (which actually took 2 and a half hours to do!) and roasted the little pots from the field. In the evening we had a meeting about the cruise at the end of the trip and then Mia, Christine and I had a few glasses of wine back at the flat.
