AFL

It stands for Australian Football League and is very popular especially in the Southern Part of Australia.

The photo is a screencap of the first game that I watched when I first got here and by rewatching it, I believe that I may have some sort of understanding to it.

Its a game of halves and the aim of the game is to get more points than the opposition by kicking the ball into the goals at each end. Both sides have four posts that make up three goals. Get the ball through the two side goals you get 1 point. You get it through the middle you get 6 points.

The ball is shaped kinda like a Rugby Ball and the way the game is played is similar to. Although there is no scrum and the ball is kicked to each other or "hand balled" (punting it to one another)

Hopefully I get to see the game live and it will help me understanding this game further!
