A host of Golden daffodils
I was nt expecting to go to the Puffin Pool today but Anne's trip was cancelled and she managed to get us a slot at 9.25am. It was lovely and warm in there, maintained at 34.5 degrees. I do nt notice the air temperature anymore but it was like a sauna the first few times. It's good to have support from the water while doing gentle exercise. It's not a pool for swimming in but there are weights and floats and a bar round the outside to hold on to while doing leg raises etc.
The outside area has been cleared of some bushes and is now a paved area with a picnic bench. This view is on the way in, a lovely mass of daffodils and blossom petals gently falling.
Another nice day after a windy night. Saw thousands of geese flying over head.
On this day in 1770 William Wordsworth was born. His poem 'Daffodils' or also known as 'I wandered lonely as a cloud' is probably his most famous and I always think of it when I see daffodils. He lived part of his life in Dove Cottage on the edge of Grasmere in the Lake District. We visited there in 1984 ,on a Sunday and missed the last bus back to Keswick so had to hitchhike our way back !
