Window of hope
Three long years ago, we discovered that my father's trusted office manager had in fact been stealing from the company. Cash withdrawals, ordering goods, double wages, the list was endless.
Several months ago after a very lengthy police investigation the culprit was finally charged with stealing over £9000 (which was only a fraction of the total, but the amount they could prove beyond all doubt.) Her plea was not guilty. Today we finally reached court. After six hours in the witness room we were told she had finally changed her plea to guilty. Justice at last.
My parents lives have been changed irrevocably by the financial loss, but I am immensely proud of the dignified manner in which they have faced this.
This was the view from the witness room today. Fitting somehow
