Windsor Castle
Today I began a three day mission to see as much of London's tourist attractions as possible. I bought a 'London Pass' which allows me entry to the majority of them, and decided that today I'd head to Windsor Castle as it was the furthest away. Tomorrow I'll be based in London central so will knock off a large chunk of the attractions to see.
Anyway, after collecting my pass at Charing Cross and stumbling across Trafalgar Square (and the rest of the Monopoly board!) I headed to Paddington Station where I boarded the train to Windsor. It was quite rainy all morning, but that didn't stop my excitement from exploring my first castle! I was suitably impressed by the age, beauty and sheer size of the royal residence.
I also had my first encounter with an englishman who I barely understood, which was amusing. He was working the food trolley in the train and as the train pulled up to the stations he gave instructions on who needed to get off and change trains etc. The first time he spoke I kind of just froze in confusion before grinning to myself for a while. From then on I listened a lot more carefully managed to get the gist of what he was saying. I'm not sure what part of London his accent originated from!
