Why we came

"It isn't enough to talk about peace, you have to believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in peace - you have to work for it. " Eleanor Roosevelt

Last April , I was in Hiroshima, visiting the Peace Park. Somehow, a year later, I am at Faslane Naval Base, at the end of a walk of almost 100 miles, to protest against the presence of nuclear weapons in Scotland. Life's like that..

It was at Hiroshima that I first realised that peace is not the absence of violence or war. It is something which must be worked for, and begins in the relationships between individuals.

This time next year... who knows?

Today would also have been my friend Annettes 53rd birthday. I like to think that she would approve :-)
