the shooglie bridge
Had a family birthday lunch for my son today. By family I mean my family and his mum's family. It went fine. Mainly because I am fine. Finally after 4 years-ish I've moved on and feel comfortable enough in her company to be myself. It's good for the kids, and just a lot more relaxing for everyone else on the fringes.
A good day then, building some kind of bridge across the chasm of my divorce. I went for a walk into town and immediately spotted a seal in the water, just at the Renfrew Ferry. By the time I got my camera out it had dooked its heid under the water and away it went.
Further along, and out came the sun. Suddenly we had the reflections I talked of yesterday. The water soaking up the surroundings and distorting it back. The muddy coloured Clyde wouldn't give me a selkie, but it did give me this fine psychedelic image rippling in the water.
Shooglie bridges then. To where, to whom?
Onwards.
