Toddler Sense :-)
We were going off for a trial session of a new group called Toddler Sense at 9.30 this morning. It's a follow on from Baby Sensory, which we only went to once. We met Jenny and Eva there and this week's theme was World Party! It was free play when we first arrived, so the girls enjoyed playing with the different beach balls, sitting on the bouncy castle, crawling through the tunnel and I walked Eva up the wooden bench and across the soft play bridge and slid her down the soft play wedge/slide. After the free play, we did around the world themed activities including what has to have been Eva's favourite... Sitting in a circle with some black fabric stretched between us and the lights down, and bouncing flashing balls up and down with laser lights on the ceiling and The Can Can playing in time to us bouncing the flashy balls. Eva was so excited and didn't know where to look first. When she spotted the laser light patterns on the ceiling that kept changing patterns and colours, her little arms were going ten to the dozen. She had a great time and I'm definitely going to take her again.
We had some toast and then a big play when we got back and Eva also sat and read some of her books to herself. I love how she loves books and will quite happily sit, turn the pages and babble away as if actually reading out loud, telling the story. She has also started doing a duck quacking action with her hand. I always do the action when I show her a duck or when I sing her "5 Little Ducks" and I caught her earlier doing the action whilst looking at some ducks on a page in her book. So cute.
Eva, as usual, had a mammoth afternoon sleep and had her lunch when she woke, when my dad also came round to see us for a coffee, a catch up and a munch. Xxx
