SPRING AFTERNOON
After unexpectedly working through the weekend - interspersed with regular puppy walking - I took Brodie off to the woods this beautiful Spring afternoon.
Over the last three months I have been methodically sawing, splitting and stacking three massive windblown Beech trees in this quiet, calm sanctuary. It affords a head clearing space away from filming, editing and writing.
This afternoon I reflected on the life and work of a writer who has been a big influence in my approach to this world.
If you haven't read Peter Matthiessen before I can thoroughly recommend one of his early books The Snow Leopard which I read after one of my first of many sojourns, to the Arctic.
