Gantocks

The rocks off the coast at Dunoon have a small beacon to warn shipping of their presence. It was not always so: shipwreck!. These rocks are always present, the beacon always visible. You know where you are when you see them, anywhere from Toward Point to Hunter's Quay. Apparently one of the other nearby beacons marks the wreck of the MV Akka: she failed to steer away from them in 1956 and came to grief. A good dive, they say, for those who like that sort of thing!
