Migration
In the depths of winter a great migration takes place from the wilds of the Scottish highlands to the southern lowlands...
Well actually it's the migration in trucks of the Cairngorm reindeer to Edinburgh's Princes Street gardens for the Winter Wonderland experience. The reindeer seem none the worse for it even though a Andy Williams Christmas song was blaring from huge speakers along side the beasts.
This was my first trip into town for some Christmas shopping. I was dreading it as a Saturday afternoon in the centre of Edinburgh is one I usually avoid. But I was surprised at the lack of the usual crush, maybe recession is hitting everyone's wallets or people are frequenting the 'out of town' experience in the various shopping malls. Anyway, an hour and a half was enough for me.
Back home for a cuppa!
