Gwen

This is Gwen, and she was born on April 8 1914. We joined her lunch party today where she celebrated her one hundredth birthday with her two daughters, three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The lunch was a surprise for her, she thought it was to be a small family party. She enjoyed every minute of it, ate as much lunch as we did and took the telegram from the Queen in her stride. We were invited because Normous has been friends with both the daughters since youth club days, a very long time.
One might expect it would be a day of memories, but Gwen seemed to be very much in the present, enjoying the day and loving her family.
