The box & mirror were bought by my colleague to brighten up the hallway. These sort of items can be found everywhere and come in all shapes and sizes. The surprising part is that they are so light. The wood appears to be similar to balsa, but it is covered in leather with brass fittings and ornamentation. Now its a mirror above a tool box!
