Sweet inspirations!

So, today was all about using up whatever was left in our fridge! umm I thought so a bag of sweet bell peppers, some potatoes, fresh basil, beetroot and fresh broads , or referred to as fava beans in this part of the world, last but not least some ham we needed to use asap.
I took my inspiration from the basil and bell peppers as slices of cold ham are slices of cold ham! :)
This lovely jewelled dish is a treat with any meat , it's sweet and sticky sauce compliments most meat dishes and the fresh basil naturally sweetens up the peppers.
So to compliment our rather boring dinner of ham, sauted potatoes, and broad beans we now have a side dish of sweet and sour peppers, I may add a few raisins to warm through and top of with pine nuts! if I have any?
