Tulip - male or female?

The answer is yes - the central stem, or pistil, is the female part which is surrounded by the six yellow pollen-covered stamens, the male parts.

Did you know that the name tulip is from the Latin word “dulband,” or turban? They got their name because their bulb shape looks like a turban.
