day's end

It all turned out ok today.
I spoke to the girl this morning and she was preparing to go out for a run, so clearly her little emergency was over.

I drove himself up to Cork to A&E where we waited hours to be told that its ok, it's not a detached retina. It's 'fragmented eye jelly' (doctor's words, honest!) probably due to him having whacked himself in the face while logging last week.
So, with that emergency also over we had lunch in the city and I did a bit of clothes shopping - rare treat.
I drove us home again, then took myself down to Toe Head beach for an hour's sea air and got home feeling relaxed. I have spent most of the day sitting down, so all in all it was a day of rest!
