Four Seasons In One Day

After the grey of the last few days I was having a kind on Photographic Mania as the sun shone this morning. It always happens after a few days of dull skies that the sun shines and suddenly everything is an image to be captured.

Today more than most days. From the outset the sunrise was clear blue above and pink around the horizon. By the time I arrived in woking the wind was up and there was a stream of stretched cirrus clouds flicking their way across the sky making the air look like a shallow stream.

By lunchtime the cumulus had arrived but only enough to give that stunning bright sunshine against dark cloud effect, light and shadow alternating rapidly as the sky changed and by 1230 there was icy rain, almost hail.

I knew that the sunset would be quite spectacular (and that I would most likely is it being out with friends). This was around 5 as the sun just began to sink low enough to break the cloud layer at the horizon.

sunset was even more spectacular with deep deep purples and oranges and added whisps of black.
