The season of oilseed rape

Not sure whether I like this crop or not. It can look too much of a strident yellow or it can enhance a view. Great for insects but smells awful when past its best! The seeds provide the world's largest source of vegetable oil on the globe.

This shot is taken from just outside the local NFU branch near Ilminster. Its offices are in an old farmyard on the Dillington Estate. The converted barns make up a mixture of private dwellings and other businesses which overlook the parkland. N had lost his "new" mobile phone, claimed for another one then found the original so we had to take the replacement one back.
