Prunus "Amanogawa"
A day at home today as I had a fair amount of gardening in the front garden that has to be done and there was no time or energy for that matter to go out! So today's picture is of the flowers on our Prunus "Amanogawa" tree that is in the back garden. This is not easy to photograph as we are overlooked by neighbours whose gable end faces our neighbour and us. The shape of the tree is not ideal either as we discovered a long time ago that a sucker from the rootstock had grown into an almost separate tree and this I cut down. The remaining tree is now gradually assuming a better shape and once the leaves are out, it does help to make the back garden a bit more secluded. This is an excellent tree, for its blossom is very good and it grows in an upright shape (when you don't get a sucker!).
