The power cable tree...

.... is unusual in that it has neither branches, nor leaves, but grows perpendicular from it base. A non-native species, introduced to Scotland in the early twentieth century, it has thrived by canal banks. The tree's coup de grace is its diamond shaped flower, which often bears its name.
