Otters in the reservoir?

I had a walk this evening around Cocksburn reservoir and I got chatting to some dog walkers.

We discussed the return of a pair of swans that have started to build their nest and the tragedy of the last pair who were found dead one day along with their cygnets.

Local knowledge had it that it was the work of a fox but the dog walkers had heard a different story.

Fishermen (the reservoir is now used by local fishing club) are complaining that otters are helping themselves to the fish.

Could it be that we have otters in the reservoir?


I have seen otters along the Allan Water River but that is nearly two miles away.
